I've got a '99 Mustang GT with no engine (AT). I've found 2 engines that I'm looking into.
1)3.8L V6 -- $600.00
2)4.6L V8 -- $1,000.00

Is it really worth the extra 400 for the V8?
The body and interior of this car are in *EXCELLENT* condition.
I also found this website..has anyone bought anything/have experience from this site? http://www.americanmuscle.com/?location=topnav
Ill have pics of the car up later tomorrow..

Any inputs/ideas of how i should go about building this car?

yes, get the v8. make sure if its the PI motor (99-04) and not the NON-pi motor (96-98). cause if its the non-pi, you might as well save the $400 bucks on put in the v6 cause with the non-pi your not gonna be any faster for the money and what your looking to do with the car.

Yes i can guide you on how to 'build' your car. you gonna go grocery shopping with it? track only car? quick street car? drink coaster? i mean wtf are you going to use it for.

yes americanmuscle.com is a FANTASTIC site to buy mustang parts. i use them 90% of the time im going to buy something for my stang. PM me for a discount coupon.

is that just a short block? long block? or long block with harness and ecu?

Where did you get it from? I'd actually be curious about one with all accessories, harness, and ecu.

Both of those options are fucking horrible. Pushrod 302, and never look back. Overhead cams are for minivans and 4 bangers.

Car: don't take it to heart...
why does everyone hate on mod motors...built they have been know to do remarkable things...im not against pushrods but the guy whats to know what to do...v6 or 4.6...the car is a gt by all means do not go backwards...keep it a v8...ask yourself what you want to do with the car and go from there

Exactly

Mod motors are not bad motors, you just need to know how to work with them,
I got other priorities right now but im going to show people what a streetable, low budget N/A 2v can really do

didnt mean to make it come off that way i dont hate the mod motors ive built a few and know plenty of people with them that are by no means slow i just prefer the pushrod much easier to work on imo...im just old fashioned i guess

i swear i have almost the same if not BETTER dollar to HP ratio than a ls1 or other mod-friendly pushrod.

total invested in performance parts: $4000 (that includes a fully built rear end, street/strip suspension, all supporting mods from the gas tank to the intake)

and in only one year ive accomplished alot for JUST a 2v:
