Cool Before and After Editing

I'm new to digital photography editing and was wondering could you guys post pictures of pictures that you have taken pre and post photoshop. I'm just trying to see what kind of results you get from using it. Also, a small description of the changes you made would be a huge as well.

I was just trying a new editing technique with a bit of grain, vignetting, and contrast. Adjusted curves and tones as well to get that cross processed look very slightly.

Let me see if I can lay this out correctly.

Open two copies of the image. Discard the color information on one copy.

On the color image, copy the image to a new layer. Apply a gaussian blur and set the layer to overlay. The higher the blur, the higher the softening effect.

On the B&W copy, apply another gaussian blur. I made the this one a bit stronger than the color copy.

Copy the B&W image to a new layer on the color image. Erase the portions of the B&W that you want to be color. Since the B&W gaussian is higher, the color portion will stand out even more. Kind of like a fake depth of field effect.
