I know I'm one of few people on here who get a little tired of all the drooling over boosted civics (honda motors) and praise for their so-called "potential". I just wanted to expose a little bit of what happens when someone else decides to "play that game" on a different platform. I dont expect this to shock anyone. It just kind of made me smile to see almost 800 horsepower at 21 psi.

SP 350z TT on the dyno

No disrespect to the goal oriented people. I just though I'd remind some of you guys that there are other cars and motors out there.

bigwalt- I dont hate civics...that would be retarded. I just think they are overrated. They get way more attention than they deserve and people treat them like they are gods gift to cars...its the general attitude about them that bothers me. I believe there is something to said for the delusion that surrounds that category of cars.

i kind of agree with him lol and i drive one. but imo tell me its not cool to be door to door with a zo6 or evo or sti in a civic? i think thats why they get so much attention, but one thing i do hate is seeing a bunch of fast eg hatches! god damn people there is other chassis out there lool

Which is why I'm aiming towards building a dc chassis. I just don't like driving around with an egg on 4 wheels.

Thanks. Thats fine and dandy...a z06 or evo/sti is a great benchmark for anybody who is modifying their car. I'm not saying respect cant be given where its due. I just dont think I'll ever get used to the fact that in the "import scene" the most highly sought after set-ups are in frickin civics

Have you seen the chiltons/haynes manual at autozone that sits next to the "how to build a small block chevy"? I'm talking about the one that has a bunch of riced out civics on it and is some sort of performance guide related to civics

. Thats when you know...its gone overboard.
In any case where something is overly popular your going to have a lot ignorance towards the things that are not.

yea civics are the most sought after cause they're the cheapest to build (least that's the bad assumption around them lol) after you get past being to broke to go out and buy a nicer starting platform, after building this civic i can honestly say that my next go fast project definately won't be a honda/acura (unless the motors located in the back, still undecided about that one lol)

this 350 is pretty badass though, any vids of it doing the dirty?

Well thats what I thought too originally.

But after seeing how you can get a 4th gen Maxima for under 2 grand and a vq35 for 700 bucks...I started wondering how much cheaper you could really build the hondas? They have a ton of aftermarket though..I get it.

I dont have any videos of the 350z on the track...Ive seen a few drag Z's running 6's but I can only find like one video. I'll look in a second.

Oh im sorry a vq35. Well if your motor was in demand as much as a b18c1 or b18c5 is that better or can i just say gsr or itr motor. it wouldnt be worth $700. Yes there is rice out there. Im sure you saw the riced out 350z vid. Next to the rice manual for hondas theres a manual for honda engine swaps. Its all what your *into.

Also im sorry that people arent into maximas like they are civics.

trust me, I like it that way. I wasnt talking about "ricers", I was just talking about close-minded folks. The attitude of "i'd rather drive a 'sleeper' civic than any [enter supercar of choice here]" kinda makes me laugh. Not to say you couldn't honestly feel that way..but I cant help but feel like most of it is denial and/or inexperience.
