No, this isn’t a post about how good Nissan’s fortunes have been of late, but rather a new camera system being developed by the company that would eliminate all blind spots around a vehicle. Rear-mounted cameras are fast becoming commonplace and Nissan itself already employs side-mounted cameras on its Presage in Japan. This new system adds a fourth camera and an image processing technique to create a synthesized aerial image of a vehicle and its surroundings.

Though all the press has focused on how this system would aid in parking, just think how great it would be on the highway where you could relive playing Spy Hunter in your own car! Pardon me, I have to go work on a homemade device that generates oil slicks at speed…
