Chevy C1500: Can this be fixed?

Basically, I brought this truck from my uncle in the condition that it is in. The top hinge has rusted and seperated from the door. What I want to know is, if I buy a new hinge, can the rusted parts on the door be fixed and welded to? Or is it beyond repair? Will I need to buy another door? Let me know!

I'm not a body man, but if I was in the position you were in, I would try to take some pictures and PM some body shops on here to see if it can be repaied and for some quotes. GL to you

Without really seeing what you are talking about, we can't help you. But no matter what, you can not weld to rust.
