Fender Rolling Damage - bad review
Business name
786 Motoring Date(s) of service/transaction end of July (est) Rating 0 ----------------------------------------------------- Your feedback I had a female friend take my EvoIX to 786 Motoring to have my rear fenders rolled/cut to clear my new wider wheels/tires. Yes they were slightly rubbing, BUT there was absolutely NO DAMAGE to the outside of the rear fender. It looks 100% perfect. Anyways, during the 'rolling' process the rear fenders were pulled out way far from stock (i only asked to have them rolled not pulled out) to where it didnt match the body lines anymore. Worst of all it wrinkled/rippled and dented in the middle on BOTH fenders. The fact that it dented in the same exact spot on both fenders is evidence that the rear fenders didnt like what they were doing to them physically. I asked a body shop and they said they dented due to the inner lip being pulled in and causing the outside portion of the fender to buckle. It either should have been more carefully rolled... or better yet CUT in sections to relieve stress during the rolling process. Well, i was unable to see the damage at first since i was at work. I asked my friend to have them FIX the damage. 786 said they could have it fixed, just needed an add'l hour. So of course i let them have at it. Well 2hrs later... and apparently, its not any better. I asked if they could FIX it and they said it would need a body man and that it would cost more money/time and that it wasnt "that bad". Anyways, since my friend(girl) couldnt get anywhere w/ them... and hard for me to do anything over the phone... i told her to just take the car since obviously they didnt want to keep it to fix it. They insisted to just not charge us if we take the car. (another sign of admission of fault - to not charge us for hours of labor). When i saw it in person later that evening the damage was horrible. Looked like someone took pliers to my rear fenders and went at it. Definately not the work of a body shop or anyone competent to do the work. There was NO disclaimer that they could possibly damage my car. They were willing to take my money and confirmed (rather conceitedly) that they are the best and would be able to perform the work. Now they are blaming it on the previous rubbing that MAY have bent the inside of the fender lip prior to rolling. This is total b.s. since its the fender that was straight... if the lip was bent then they should have just cut it instead of rolled it. Either way, proves the tech was irresponsible in assessing the situation prior to work. Another issue that arose which is why i was extremely upset... is that there was another customer in the shop who witness them mocking the work and laughing at the fact that they screwed up the fenders and "hoped i wouldnt come back w it" etc... like its a joke. Now that part is just hearsay... but it would upset anyone. Now, I am NOT willing to let them hack at the car anymore as they already caused too much damage. If they were competent it would have been fixed the initial time. So, i will be taking it to a professional body shop to have it corrected. All i ask is if 786 Motoring is a standup shop... that they pick up the bill. No way am I letting them have the car back to touch it again. Im sure they will not correct this w/ me. So let the negative review stand. (if i need to edit this review then please let me know. I tried my best to not bash... just saying how it all went down. No name calling etc... lol) ------------------------------------------------------ |
