Yep, a friend of mine is moving to Cali so he can get his bachelor's degree and some experience working in a law office, then he'll be able to sit for the bar exam without a JD.

this quote made me really think it is a good school

Northwestern Law’s culture is inherently distinct from other top law schools, as it is the only one which is comprised almost completely of students with one or more years of work experience. Students also say self-selection plays a role in attracting students who think they might thrive in the business school-like culture. Said a student, “we interview for admissions, thus we get fewer people who are well-qualified on paper, but horrible to be around.”
this alone is worth its weight in gold. at least twice a day I have to physically restrain myself from stabbing a douche bag in the neck with my highlighter.

That quote made me think the same, and I have a feeling I'm going to be a splitter when I apply, and NU is really Splitter friendly from what I've read and researched.

Plus their MBA/JD program is legit and can be done in three years.

But reading their job placement, placement down south is super low =| But they are a T14 school, so any firm in the know would know about NU I guess? But UT still remains my top option. But I'm gonna have to write a darn good addendum as to why my first two years of undergrad sucked balls.

When applying to professional school like law, dental, opt, medical... what is wait-listed even mean?

I thought you either get in or you don't get in or is it school-specific?

    Pretty much you're "on call"

If you get waitlisted sending a Letter Of Continued Interest might help get you off of it.

wait list is an acceptance but they don't have an opening for you yet. since people apply to many, many schools, lots of accepted students will come off the waitlist when they hear from another more desireable school. When the spots open you are removed from the wait list and then you have a seat.

I wouldn't think you would. But sending a Letter of Continued Interest might nudge you off that WL.

I want to go to xx school because [reason 1] [reason 2]

honestly Nothwestern is great. in fact, it's an amazing damn school. but for the South, UT all the way. unless you get to HYS it should be a no-brainer.

Only problem I have is I don't know if I want to stay in the south when I decide to settle down, have a family...etc.

Would Northwestern provide me a better opportunity across the country than UT? Or do they weigh in about the same.

Northwestern is ranked #12, UT #16. *shrug* Columbia is probably out of the picture, I'm testing at 166 right meow, I think I can crack at 170 even, but not anything above it. And I'll probably fall a bit short of their 3.7 median GPA floor.
