Quote for roof overlay: 2007 VW GTI

There's a guy making roof overlays out of California for 85 bucks, there's another guy on the East Coast but he charges 200! That's a little to much for me.

I want to know how much for a satin or gloss black.

here's some examples of the guy from Cali.

let me know how much it would be for the vinyl and installation.

also, if you guys cannot do this, or it would be more expensive, just quote me the labor of the installation. I would try myself, but seems like a lot.

guys, i've never done a full roof overlay. But $200 sounds cheap to me.

I'd have to special order the material, as I donlt stock anything that won't fit in my plotter. I'm sure that matt black is a 4 or 5 foot sheet. Then you have the labor to remove the headliner to remove the rear antenna, then you have the labor of the actual installation.

Doing what should be done in paint, and doing it in vinyl doesn't mean it's cheaper, ....just removable.

My "ball park" estimate (without looking up the material costs, etc..) would be at least over $200, ...maybe even $300.

If you've never worked with vinyl before, you have no idea how hard it is to conform to the curves near the windshileds, raingutters, etc... It's NOT just a sticker applied to a rear bumper.

As for installation only? I won't do it, unless you sign a waiver that if I mess it up, i'm not buying you new material, ...(hence why i'd use my own).

Hope this helps you out, ...even though i'm sure it wasn't the reply you wanted.

Call me if you have any further questions,

    Greg
