modding madness

Joined HI yesterday because I am SO jonesing for a meet! There is a weekly I try to go to in Clearlake on Saturday nights, but it's tough to get out there. Saturday is a popular going-out night for me and my wife. So I was hoping for something on Sunday and viola! HI delivers just when I needed it most.
Looking forward to meeting the metro tuner community and especially interested in checking out any other VQ platforms in the area.
I bought my car new in 2004 but had never turned a wrench, automotively speaking. I have a workshop and I'm an engineer, so I've always been down for tinkering. Just never had the cash to do it until more recently in life.
So now I'm under the hood, reading tons and I have a TT goal for my car. I totally understand what my car is and what it is NOT. I will never make this into a drag car, though I might track it for fun. I just want the things I love about my FX to be... bigger and better. Most of the mods I have made have done exactly that for me. Some of them have not and I had to go back to OEM or try something different. Part of the learning experience and all of it is so much fun. Taking my time with the big stuff. The install shop is SO important, as is the tune. I want reliability and longevity with the power I give this FX. I won't ever take supercars or even most high end cars. But I gaurantee I'll be a sleeper that will suprise the crap out of more than a couple people.
