need help

ok my parents 96 tauras has an over heating proablem and i need to know what is causing this. the coolant keeps backing up into the coolant tank reserve and overflowing out of it. we had the whole coolant system flushed about a month ago for the same thing and that helped for a while and i also replaced the thermostat on it. so does anyone have any info to why this engine is doing this?.

i have a 97 sable, same engine i suppose.

mine did that ONCE, i checked and there was too much coolant in the tank. removed a little and that seems to have fixed the problem. yours sounds much more complicated though. :(

the engine is a 3.0 V6 dunno the code for it... and i didnt think this was the wrong form for this but if it is please move.

try to check the water pump

replace the radiator cap. sometimes they get old and worn out.

the cap caused the backup and overflow?... i think the water pump is more along the lines of the issue.
