dash lights keep going out

my dash lights keep going out....the fuse keeps blowing when i turn on my headlights....my headlights and taillights are all working fine....i know i have a short somewhere but i just dont know where to start looking.....electrical experts please point in the right direction

what year make and model car? do you have a aftermarket radio? when and what started it? or did it just start up one day?

it just started one day.....i've been having a radio for years and it just started happening now....i tried looking for exposed wires or something and figured out that it happens when i arm my alarm or lock my doors.....i change the fuse and turn on my headlights and everything is fine but when i lock my doors thats when the fuse blows....and my car is a civic

Sounds like someone did a shitty install on your alarm. I'd take it back and tell them what happened, maybe they'll even fix it for you. If not, it's just a matter of tracing all the wires from the alarm to the wires under the dash and using a voltmeter to check them.
