adjusted my valves... well my friend did.. i think he used the specs from a crv...

are the specs the same or not... i dont have the actuall specs with me, they are at home and ill post them when i get there...before my compression was 119-118-120-120... supposed to be around 150......havent checked my compression since the vavle adjustment...(yesterday night :D )

but all i really want to know are the specs for a valve adjustment that same for a 94 ls and a crv.....

the spec for the LS is .007 in and .008 ex. it should be the same on the CRV because they use the same head.

Your compression seems low to me. I'm not sure what the nominal number is for the b20, but I know the b18b's nominal is 199. Do you have a b20b or b20z? The year would also help. Valve lash adjustments should be the same as SecretAgent said.

i got a 94 b18b1 (ls), adjusted the valves and now the compression is 180-160-180-180.... #2 is still low.. my car doesnt smoke, idles at like 600 (low?), drives fine.... what can it be...

Sorry about that, I assumed that since he was using the CRV specs, that you had a b20 swap. Have you tried dropping some oil into the #2 cylinder to see if that bumped up your compression? If it does raise it dramatically, the rings are suspect. You could also try doing a leakdown test.

yeah tried that and nothing happened.. just smoked :roflmao: ..ran it a couple of times and checked the compression..it stayed the same, it looks like a leakdown test is the next step for me..

1998 crv specs

intake side

0.003-0.005 in. {mm}-{0.08-0.12}

exaust side

.006-0.008 in. {mm}-{0.16-0.20}

so i kinda dout there the same. this info came from a firestone service manual.it also says that as long as your cylinders do not have a difference of 25 psi of compression, you should be all right. like {200 psi ,200,200,160
than the 160 is bad.
