I put new pads on my 95 240, They are the ceramic pads.
After a few minutes of running hard and using the brakes pretty hard, they heat up so bad that the brakes are almost useless.
The brakes work awesome unless they get heated up. I know if the brake pads get heated up they wont work well but i wouldnt think they would heat up so soon just from a little bit of hard braking.
Is this typical with most brakes? I put the new pads on almost immediately after i bought the car about a month ago so i dont know if the old pads did the same thing.

get you some performance brake pads and that will probably solve your problem. a lot of the parts store brands are very suceptible to heat soak. the best "regular" bad i've used has been Wagner ThermoQuiets. very progressive brake fade, and hold up to heat really well, hard to make them squeal after hard braking.

I doubt the old pads have brake fade that badly. Since u switched the pads to ceramics, the compound is probably too much for the brake rotors to disapate all the heat (Brake fade). I believe that your brake rotors are stock, and the rotors are in need to be replaced to keep up with the ceramics pads.
Hope this was useful.

They look fake, as brembo never made a crossdrilled and slotted rotor. Go to Autozone and get the cheap blanks with the lifetime warranty, they will be just fine. If you really feel the need to have namebrand stuff, just get the brembo blanks.

Isnt the point of new rotors to get ones that wont heat up as quick? Isnt drilled or slotted better for that?

I thought they did, i believed it was called the Brembo F50. Anyways, my rotors are stock because it still new, but if u have money, check out tirerack cause they have brake and tire combos, but yes replace the stock rotors, if possible.

yea, you cnan do pads yourself,
Just pay attention when you take the old ones off so you can see how the new ones go on.
So are those brembo rotors really going to make a big diff?
Do i need just Front or F&R?
