hi, i got a honda civic 98... when i turn on my a/c theres a LOUD squelch from the engine and when i raised my hood and try to turn it on i see smoke coming from one of the belts. Is my a/c locked up? or do the belts need to be changed? how much do you think that kinda work runs? or where i could get it done for a decent price?

Sounds like the AC clutch is locking up the entire pulley. You're problem going to need a new AC compressor, or at least the pulley if they sell it seperately.
