You would see black smoke coming out the tailpipe in the higher rpms. And you could probably smell it in the exhaust system. Now what year/model/make and mileage are we talking about here?

You may also want to check the spark plugs.

I got a 91 crx si and i also running a bit rich...i cleaned the injectors with a 2 step injector cleaning kit and it toned it down a bit but still running rich...if you guys know what to do to get it out you wont be helping just this guy ull be helping me :ugh2: i heard tho...but havent tried it...that getting smaller plug wires ie. changing from 10mm to 8mm will help. Is this true???

You shouldn't be running anything over 8mm anyway. Take it to a shop and let them clean the injectors. This will clean the fuel rail and the injectors at the same time. New plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor definitely can't hurt. Especially if they haven't been replaced recently. SlowCRX, your name isn't Miles, by chance, is it? Anyway, injector cleaning will help dramatically. But if that doesn't help, you could also get a v-afc, or an s-afc, and an adjustable FPR(fuel pressue regulator) to lean it down. You'll need to take it to a dyno though.

try the idle air mixture on the throttle body big nasty flat head screw.i turned mine all the way in it ran rich but idled real low but turned it 2 times around and it was at ideal fuel air mix on my gauge.your tps sensor has alot to do with it to just as much as the iavc or whatever valve on the back of the intake manifold near the throttle body.

this is just a opinion. i am not telling him what to do.

Well most honda's run rich in the upper rpm's from the factory to prevent detonation. I never even considered the tps, or the idle adjustment screw, but the fuel maps in the ecu will still be dumping the same amount of fuel at WOT. It may be injectors, the fuel sending unit, or the fpr, also. I would just replace one thing at a time, if it doesn't fix the problem, take it off and then take it back. That's the cheap way to do it.

put it on wide ban air flow meter and have someone fix it or tune it.
