R6 is bad ass. Be careful which one you buy though. Its the best 600cc IMO. Perfect handling, sexy, fast, short wheel base, dual lights, comfortable........ awesome machine.

i just sold my 2001 r6, i never rode a bike before till i rode it, i learned everything on that bike, dont get me wrong im not a expert or a pro, everyone told me not to get it for my first bike, i still did, i had a hella good time on it, and loved it, its a good bike to have, but it was just uncomfortable for me on long distances, maybe cause im so tall, i dont know, but if u want it just make sure u know how to ride if not, then make sure whoever teaches u teaches u right and that they are a good experienced rider, honestly if u lookin to buy new i would buy the 600rr, its a bad ass bike, if u buy used buy a r6

Hmmm I have a used 02 R6 (Bought new though ;)) and the other day, I was trying to pass an 04 600rr through the twisties up there over in the NW area off 290 haha. Everytime A corner would come up, Id be on the back tire of the 600rr. If there wasnt any traffic concern, I would have passed it.

So with the 600rr, did you replace the seat? Cause the 600rr's seat can compare to a board. I found it very uncomfortable. If your really tall, yeah the 600rr is better cause it has a slighty further lean angle. Im 5'10" and the R6 fits me like a glove.

I dont really like gixxers. I just dont like the way the feel, look, handle, and there is always a 50% chance that someone riding a gixxer has no gear on. They have that rep thanks to the g-dogs who have to look cool. Granted, the bike is fkn fast though. Where it passes up R6 on the track, the R6 makes up that space in the turns.

r6s are light compared to teh gixxr i got on an r6 feels like a toy to me but they are nice bikes. Id rather keep my gixxer than get an r6 though.

:D The R-6 is a great bike. Now that they are fuel injected and not carb it is a whole lot easier to tune. Love the new R-1. :thumb: . I don't own one but I have rode a few of them since I work for a Yamaha dealership. :thumb: I am so lucky and I have ridden the new R-1 also

The R6 is also my favorite 600. They are all just about equal though. In my opinion the R6 is by far the most comfortable and for some reason I feel more confident to do more on it. If you want “the best 600” the new GSX-R has been revised this year so it’s probably going to beat out the others performance wise. I sat on one yesterday (Sat) and it felt pretty good even though the seat pad is rather small. I am just really tired of Suzuki’s color schemes. But yeah, go with the R6 dude! And don’t let me catch you riding without gear jackass! :)

I am not yet interested on buying a bike yet. I just want to learn more about it for right now, but we will see :thumb:

start out small, go take the MSF course, I started on a Kawasaki ex250, great starter bike if your just learning. Bikes have great resale value so you won't lose much if any if you buy a used one and sell it.

Yup. I even made $400 after selling my first bike, even after putting over 2K miles on it.
