Ok, I bought my SR a few months ago. It had an oil change about 1k miles before it was pulled out. The motor sat for a long time doing nothing, nothing at all. So about three months later its in my car. Then I buy a new turbo. I dont move the car for another 2 months withing for my parts to come in. Now I get the new turbo and other stuff get everything put in last night and I forget to put in the oil drain line. I start up the car and turn it right back off since I saw the oil falling on the ground. I then put on the return line and everything is ok. But then I take a look at the oil. It is Mobile 15w-50 but it is really dark and doesnt smell as strongly of oil as I think it should. I am about to change the oil and see what happens but I want to hear other opinions. thanks.

I am going to change it, but I think the rings might be fucked, and if that is so changing the oil isnt going to fix anything.

Send a sample of your oil to Blackstone for analysis. Also, rather than doing an oil change, take it somewhere to get it powerflushed.

Where can I get it powerflushed? I did the change already but I will probably do another one soon anyway.

I saw the powerflushing advertised at Gillman Nissan in Rosenberg. Call them and inquire

if you don't want to do the powerflushing get some 15w40 Rotella T Shell oil. it's used for diesels but will work on gasoline engines. it's a fantastic oil, because like all 15w40's it's a detergent oil. meaning it cleans all the carbon, gunk, etc off of the parts it comes in contact with. run it for an oil change or 2 and then flush and put in some synthetic oil.

do a compression test to guage the condition of the rings. if you need a guage, let me know.

I did my compression about 3 weeks ago. It was ok, the #4 cylinder is getting a lil funny but here they are:

1-167
2-162
3-163
4-157

thanks for all the help guys.
