My machanic said it most likely my brake booster. Here is my symptoms. I have fixed all vacuum tubes but when i turn off my motor you hear a vacuum leak. And when i brake really hard it feels really stiff.

So if its my brake booster. How hard is that to change out. I have heard its not a easy task.

Theyre not too difficult to replace if youve done them before, just get ready to be cramped under the dash upside down:)
If you havent ever done one, I suggest having someone else do it or at least supervise you.
You will need to check the master cylinder/ booster pushrod adjustment anytime you replace either one.You will need a handheld vacuum pump and the special tool to do it with or maybe you can make one yourself. I forget the spec, but want to say its around .030". If you dont set the clearance correctly, you may have too much pedal travel or your brakes may even drag.
