I had a similar thing happen to my VX when I first got it, carbs were so bad it wouldn't run unless the throttle was opened. I managed to take them apart and clean them as well as I could but it still wasn't running smoothly.

I took them to this shop called Global Motorsports, they charged me $144 to clean/sync/adjust the carbs. They're on 16920 Kuykendahl Rd. www.globalcycles.com

Kinda far for me the the prices were reasonable.

Just make sure that is the problem before you do something that doesn't solve your issue.

1) Your carbs shouldnt have gummed up in 2 months. Stop using kroger brand gas.

2) Motorcycles Unlimited sucks. If your not part of their "family", then your SOL. And their prices are not all that great anyways, like they claim.
