after you turned the key, did you hit the choke and the start buttons?

Check to see if it's in gear. I can't tell you how many times I've been owned by this.

I had a friend that kills the bike by removing the key instead of flipping the on/off switch. I hit the switch after I rode it and tossed him the key. Later on he couldn't get the bike started, damn near drained the battery.

"Um, buddy, the switch."

In my 9 years of messing around with bikes, I have never had a blown main fuse but I guess if someone was messing around with wires it could happen.

Speaking of starting up bikes, or bikes not starting...i had a question for u guys. (Sorry for hijacking ur thread man, but since ur prob is solved, i was hoping i could get some answers too) My friend's bike that i'm trying to get wasn't starting all this time. It wouldn't even turn over for the longest time..but he tried to start it the other day and it tried to turn over, but didn't.

Anyway, he's had the bike for about a 1 1/2 years of which the bike has been sitting there for about 8 months of that. In that time, he's never changed the oil on that bike. Well, his dad and his neighbor have changed the oil, spark plugs, and have drained the carbs.. The bike starts now, but u have to keep it in choke to keep it going, once u let off..the bike stalls. They're going to add some addatives to the gas(?) and also take out the carbs and clean them. So do u think there will be any problems after that? And how much would it run me to have them professionaly cleaned? Thanks.

Sounds like the exact same thing that happened to my VX. Jets were gummed up, so it would only run on the choke.

so what u do to fix it? And did it mess up on u afterwards?

Took the carbs apart and cleaned it w/carb cleaner. After that the bike would run off choke, but it still wasn't smooth. So I took it to a shop to get profesionally cleaned. Runs great now at any rpm and any throttle input.
