View Full Version : eg hatch wheel bearings

the hub that the rotor/wheel is one wabbles. i can grab the tire while its in the air and move it around. is there a seperate bearing i can replace or do i need to replace the whole axle? thanks hi!

same problem here...i think there is a bearing to replace it, but im just going to take that whole assembly off of a gsr or another eg that has a good one. This is probably not the best way to correct the situation but I think it will be less of a hassale because the bearing will probably have to be pressed out/in. Ive never attempted to replace the bearing so idk for sure.

The bearing can be replaced by itself. You just need to find someone or a shop with a press that is able to do it. Any automotive repair shop should be able to do it for you. Just take off the knuckle and hub and give it to them with the new bearing. You'll save on labor that way.

alright cool. so its JUST the bearing i have to replace, not the whole assembly. just making sure. and i can get bearings at just any parts place right?

Yes, you should be able to, if not I know the dealership has them for sure.

just called autozone and they are about 45 bucks each and have to be pressed in.

don't waste your time taking the knuckle to the shop.
this special tool push out and install bearing.

Wow, okay. That's fucking dope. Did not know there was a tool like that. OP you should get that instead and do it yourself. If you only want it for one time use, go and buy it, I'll buy it from you when you're done.
