View Full Version : what the hell is wrong with my arm?

I just recently started working out and now I am getting these weird pains on my inner side, opposite of the elbow where my arm creases.

It's hard for me to do curls and sometimes can be very irritating and I can't do any curl ups? It also almost looks like a small bruise has begun to appear as well.

I'm just a little confused on what the problem could be or if it is some type of torn muscle?

Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe your joints are not strong yet to handle the weight you're using. Reduce weight. A lil pain is alright. Just keep at it.

Sounds like a soarness... Were you doing preacher curls?

How many days in between? When is the last time you did curls and when did you try again?

IF YOU HAVENT BEEN WORKING OUT AND YOU PUMP FOR MORE THEN 15 MINS STRAIGHT, YOU WILL BE SORE THE NEXT DAY, POSSIBLY TWO OR THREE, THATS IT, YOU REST IT OFF THEN CONTINUE AND YOU WONT HAVE IT AGAIN, UNLESS YOU STOP FOR A LONG PERIOD. IF YOUR HAVING PAIN AFTER THAT TIME IT IS POSSIBLE YOU PULLED OR STRESSED THE MUSCLE OR/AND TENDONS A LITTLE TOO MUCH, I DONT THINK YOU HYPEREXTENDED IT, IF THERE IS A BRUISE YOU MIGHT HAVE WORKED OUT A LITTLE TOO HARD WITH TOO MUCH WEIGHT AND HAD A SMALL VESSLE BURST, NO BIGGIE, IT'LL GO AWAY. MAKE SURE YOU STRETCH , I KNOW THE EXACT PAIN YOUR FEELING, IT WOULD PISS ME OFF AND MAKE ME WANNA PUNCH SOMEONE.:trill:

PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING THE BODY.

Try less weight.

start light and build up, no pain no gain.

start light and build up, no pain no gain.

Depends on what kinda pain. If you are using improper form just to do higher weights, you are causing damage to yourself.

I was doing hammer curls. And it isn't soar like it's been worked out. Its more of a strain. I haven't worked out in a couple months and i started with the same weight I used to do, just less reps.

do you stretch your body before you do your work outs?

your description was rediculously vague, and any attempt to ''diagnose'' your problem via the internet would be as good as a shot in dark.

rest it, and wait for it to go away, all you can do without going to a doctor

If there is a visible bruise forming from something that happened from lifting weight you need to see a doctor. Bruises don't happen from lifting weights, no matter how sore or 'pumped'. If you genuinely see some skin discoloration where the pain is and you know you did not just hit that spot hard on something and it is from weights alone....you need to get it checked out and stop lifting until then.
