ok every1 im back to workin onlooks and i got 99 coupe ex so im going to take the grey carpet and dye it red but i lost the link that said which dye was best to use, any1 know?

i dont wana spray paint it done that once and smelled nasty forever too and it faded. so i read about a dude puting 8 bottles of dye and 2 things of salt and boiling water in a trash can then putting the carpet in it? any help?

i already took everythingout so will start monday...

The roof interior idk what to call it but it has like lil holes where some1 i guess put a cig on it but doesnt smell like a smoked car. so i want to take the cloth off the top and dye it too has AN1 TRIED OR HEARD OF HOW TO DO IT AND RE INSTALL IT? THANKS BROS

ive dyed a 5.0 convertible top,, it was white i dyed it black,, didnt fade at all also, i used "Rit dye" they sell at some grocey stores and at michaels craft stores.. oh yea i used 2 bottles.. the 2nd bottle i use after you dye it one time and rise it, do it that way it wont fade... on yeah the directions u said " use hot water" thats correct i dont know what salt will do tho... make sure you rinse them good otherwise the dye run when you get your carpet wet

well i followed the directions on the back of the container,, it says just use the dye and hot hot water and let it soak for 15-30 min,, since your doing carpet,, i would buy like 5 containers of that shit,, use 2 1/2 of them with boiling water, let it soak for 1 hour+.... after thats up then take out the carpet and repeatedly rise it till you dont see teh color run,, then either let your carpet dry, then redye it or just re-dye after you rinsed it a few times... since your doing a sortta bright color id let the carpet dry before you dye it a second time that way the red dye will have time dry, once do you this process the 2nd time itll look really good- i doubt itll fade aswell... shit the convertable top i did.. it was a bright white color,,, i did teh above steps.. it didnt fade or run at all after i finished.. had the beezy for nearly a year before i sold couldnt even tell i dyed it.. hope this tut helps
