Starting new career in fabrication

I hoping to start a new career in fabrication. If you have any tips on skills I should focus on. Obviously metal working/welding is a must. Any info/tips would be greatly appreciated.

practice practice practice basically... all depends on what industry you intend to use this skills in as each has different tricks for a given trade.
