im confused

don't buick and jaguar only make 3 models? and lexus has like what 12?

if lexus makes 12 models and has 126 problems per 100 vehicle and buick and jaguar only make 3 models and have 122 problems per 100 vehicles, that doesnt seem good?

can someone clear this up for me

why? its after end of life.

cars are designed to work and be together for the length of the warranty which is 36k miles or 60k miles.

after that the car companies dont give a shit.

The numbers don't work that way. They work on averages, not on total numbers of cars sold. If you went out and bought a random Lexus, you would find 1.26 problems with the car. If you bought a Buick/Jag, you'd only find 1.22 problems. Small difference, but a difference nonetheless.

Nobody but old people and women listen to JD Power anyway. They don't get nearly in-depth enough. The Lexus' problem could be a cracked tire valve cap, whereas the Buick could come missing the whole damn engine. Either way, it's just one problem.

Scion should be in the top 5 too.

Then how the hell does Mercury have so many less problems Ford, when all Mercury is are rebadged Fords?

Because Mercury doesn't sell the Focus, full-size trucks or SUVs, Mustang, etc. Those are all higher-volume cars than the ones Mercury sells, and those are the ones with more problems. Cut those out of Ford's sales numbers and I'm sure it'd be right up there with Mercury.

Thats pretty much what the other dude was saying...

They have less models to offer thus they have less problems...
