:rock::rock::rock::rock::rock:
Honda was never going to take Nissan's GT-R or the ever-elusive Lexus LF-A lying down and the next NSX was the most natural way to break that current GT-R tidal wave. What you observe here are leaked pictures of its see-through technical makeup, the stuff under the skin as it were. Thanks to contributing artist, Larson, a pretty accurate rendering completes the picture.
NSX hits the dealership network in late 2009 after numerous test sightings and spy shots published on WCF. Just from the figures it is evident that sardines aren't on the target menu; only the really big fish interest NSX, names like Ferrari F430 and Porsche 911 GT3 come to mind. For this to happen the NSX will employ the power of a 5.5-litre V10 whose cylinders will fire up an entire 560bhp/ 417kW through a sequential gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddleshifters.
Honda's Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) should ensure 0 - 100km/h times of under 4 seconds and a top speed approaching 200mph or 322kh/h. Pricing may begin from the £100,000 mark.

It's too bad the GT-R is Nissan's flagship vehicle, and not Infiniti's.

Well I've seen the actual car a few times in camo. Renderings don't really do much for me. I'll save judgment until I see the real deal, or see it outside the internet.
Should be a good performer. It'll be interesting to see if it can shake the Viper ACR or ZR1.
It's also way too expensive. Just make what you can for $80k, don't make what you WANT and sell it for a price only a few can afford. Save that sort of behavior for Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche et al.

says the guy who worships a $100K chevy. :stare:
The Chevy is worth $100k. Chevy also makes a $70k Z06 and a $50k base model. Honda is making a one off car and selling it for $150k+. At least ease your way into that shit... If the current base model Corvette was selling for $100k, then yeah, I'd be the first in line to cry foul. As it is, they made a foundation with the base model and built on that, and to me that is entirely acceptable.
There is no foundation for the new NSX. No NSX base model or "Type S" that sells for a reasonable price. Just an NSX. Not only that, but Honda is no performance power house. They don't have any other real sports cars to it's name outside the S2000. All it really has, in terms of this "supercar" market segment, is the defunct NSX brand in question that faded into oblivion decades ago. So bringing it back by dropping a possibly $200,000 car onto our heads doesn't exactly strike me as an ideal form of market re-entry. Especially considering the original NSX was marketed much like the Corvette, as a supercar for everyday heroes.
Nissan went kind of foul with the GTR by trying to build a $100,000+ car for $80k... Now they've had two price increases for a total price increase of $16,000, and the car is quickly approaching it's true production value per production costs for Nissan (or said another way, we can figure out how much the GTR really costs Nissan by the amount of additional money they are stamping on it's price tag). What they should've done is build a true $80,000 and sold it as such. Instead they were desperate to undercut everyone, and distance themselves far enough away from Porsche prices to make their car seem like a tremendous bargain (which it is; or rather, was).
I bring this point up because Honda is doing this same thing, however in the opposite direction. A car that should sell for $80k, is being built and sold for six figures. It may be a six figure car, but that isn't it's market place. It never was. And the GTR's market place was never in the $80ks to be honest. Both companies are caught in a pissing contest and the cars they are building reflect that. BMW is one of the only sensible companies out there. They could've made the new M3 a world beater, but they didn't. Instead they built a remarkable car and sold it within it's price bracket.
With all that said, the ZR1 is still a bargain for it's price, just ask Jeremy Clarkson who was one of the first people to compare (it in terms of performance and bang for your buck) to the $800,000 Ferrari Enzo.
Cliff notes: The ZR1 is awesome and worth every penny. :p

We've obviously seen what Chevy can do if they want to make a supercar: IE, the ZR1.

If you had READ--which you obviously can't do--my previous posting, it was 90% about the Nissan GTR and NSX. I was looking for a discussion, nothing more.
But please do me a favor and refrain from reading anymore of my postings because you seem fundamentally ill equipped to comprehend them. Me having to defend myself to you is just a waste of time. So you can continue to keep bleeding Corvette cock fantasies out your ass, but just keep them to yourself, and I'll keep carrying on actually discussions.

I only faulted the NSX on it's price, that was it. I said it will be fun to see if it can take on the ZR1 or Viper ACR at the 'Ring. You wonder why I'm such an asshole, and I wonder why you come across like an illiterate cock. These threads would be half as long if you would just actually read what I write and have some capacity to remember what was or wasn't said.
Cock ride this, nut hang that. Just fucking read my shit and you'll see that I never questioned the NSX's performance potential. The end.
PS: The NSX will not best the ZR1. ;)

...After nearly 59 minutes of loving on the ZR1 and CTS-V, they both sort of felt obligated to fault the cars on something. So the two cars don't meet the quality standards of Mercedes (and I've owned plenty), but neither does Honda.
And you know why the ZR1 is cheap? Because it goes about speed the right way. Simple, efficient, and powerful. It doesn't need 1,000 computers. It doesn't need AWD. Great motor, proper gearbox (no $20k pile of shit), great chassis, great suspension, great brakes, simple as pie. And it still gets better gas mileage then the GTR and NSX and their new-age technology. With 100+ extra HP.
It sucks living in America where such a car can exist.

i read your shit just fine, dickwad. a company who's already had a successful 6 figure car can possibly justify putting a more expensive one on the market. and don't give a shit about what you think about their cost. especially since their resale doesn't fall through the fucking floor in the blink of an eye, and that they know they'll be around to provide service for the car in a few years as well.

yep. and the camaro is set to dominate its competition as well. with RS model to come with 300hp and a nice interior the mustang and challenger V6's will be laid to waste, and the GT and RT models will be reeling from the RS. enter the SS with class leading luxury, options, power, and chassis, its going to be the top performer.
its sad to see GM floundering monitarily because of bad choices made and teh UAW because they have gotten their head on straight and are building cars that are not only amazing performers but are NICE inside and out. CTS and V model are an amazing example of this.
