The all-new Chevrolet Camaro was unveiled in July at GM's Design Center, complete with engine options and power outputs, but until now we hadn’t seen any details about what specs or trim levels the rejuvenated muscle car would be available with. Leaked details for the car, which is set for launch in the first half of next year, have now surfaced, confirming there will be five different variants all up.

The lineup will include the new LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS and the 2SS. The LT and SS versions will also be available with an optional RS package, which adds a number of features including 20in wheels, HID headlights, and special badging.

According to the list, which was posted earlier this week on Camaro5 forums, the new Camaro will come generously equipped even for the entry-level LS. This base version still gets a 3.6L direct-injection V6 rated at 300hp (224kW) and 273lb-ft (370Nm) of torque, as well as a dual exhaust system, 18in steel wheels, Onstar Safe & Sound, XM satellite radio, Stabilitrak electronic stability control, six airbags, and a six-speaker stereo all fitted as standard. The only available option is floor mats.

Move up to the range topping 2SS with the optional RS package and you get a 6.2L LS3 V8 rated at 422hp (314kW), as well as heated leather seats, 19in aluminum wheels, a premium Boston Acoustics nine-speaker stereo and an eventual heads-up-display system. Add the optional RS package and you get 20in wheels, a rear spoiler, and HID headlights.

The Camaro’s launch is still several months away but Chevrolet dealers will start making the first pre-order sales on the 13th of this month.

Impressive V6 base-model. I would've guessed that they wouldn't put the DI version of the 3.6 into it. Matches the current Mustang GT in HP.

When is this going to launch? They say a few months away? That's early for a 2010 model.

its an incredibly smart move.

is just as fast as the mustang GT powerwise, but returns better fuel economy.

chevy was smart with this.

Except for the fact the 2010 GT is supposed to be a 400hp 5.0, with a rumored Boss 6.2 possible.

Thanks, the new 5.0 is pretty much for sure going to be in it, and soon after a 6.2 pushrod is going to take over.

6.2? I thought they were considering going in the other direction with smaller displacement FI engines.

Yeah, the turbo 'Ecoboost' engines. There's a V6 available in the Lincoln MKS I think, and there is supposed to be a 4cyl too. There are rumors of an Ecoboost 4cyl Mustang, similar to the old Fox body Mustang SVO.

The base Camaro was rumored to be getting the 260hp Ecotec turbo, but I guess that didn't work out.
