The first Volkswagen Scirocco coupes are just starting to appear in showrooms in Europe but some of Germany’s top tuners are already working on the car, releasing initial styling mods and mild power upgrades in the process. Earlier this week we saw Oettinger's 350hp power kit for the Scirocco and now we have the latest kit from ABT Sportsline.
The modifications to the car’s exterior include a new bodykit for the coupe, with an aggressively styled front spoiler, sporty side sills with new air-intakes behind the doors, and a new bumper housing vertically stacked exhaust tips. The final addition is a new ABT rear wing.
At the customer’s request, ABT will also either its BR or AR alloy wheels, which come in a range of sizes measuring between 18 and 20 inches. The Scirocco can also be fitted with new springs, which lower the car by as much as 30mm.
To go with the styling and handling mods are several power upgrades, with the first package boosting power of the 1.4L TSI engine in the base Scirocco to 200hp (147kW) – up from 160hp (119kW). ABT’s kit for the diesel model sees the 2.0L TDI go up to 170hp (125kW) from the standard 140hp (103kW). Finally, the tuner’s kit for the 2.0L TSI sees power boosted to 240hp (177kW) from the standard model’s 200hp (147kW).
Matching the extra power is an ABT braking system, which features 345mm discs and sports pads.
