French manufacturer Peugeot will be showcasing a bold new hybrid concept at the Paris Motor Show in October. Called the ‘RC…’, the car is shrouded in mystery with the full name not even being revealed to the public until the Paris Motor Show. Peugeot calls the ‘RC…’ concept a working laboratory of numerous stylistic, engineering and technological advancements all in a single vehicle.
The car has been developed in-house by Peugeot’s stylists and engineers, and while it might not be a typical Peugeot in name or form, it serves as a design study and technological showcase for what future vehicles may possess.
According to Peugeot, it is a ‘GT’ coupé that provides the missing link between the RC ‘Spade’ and RC ‘Diamond’ concept cars revealed in 2002 and the 908 RC, which debuted at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. Despite its description as a ‘GT’ coupe, the ‘RC…’ comes with four-doors and four seats, as well as a hybrid architecture.
The maximum power output from the car’s hybrid engine is expected to be over 300hp (223kW), while CO2 emissions will be as low as 109 g/km when the car is in its ‘combined cycle’ (i.e. using both engines) and 0 g/km in pure electric mode. Expect more pictures and details to be released closer to the show.
