Dinan - 628-hp V10 into BMW M3
http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/08/m3-coupe-red.jpg
The latest BMW M3, which BMW unveiled with a V8 derived from the award-winning 5-liter V10 found in the M5 and M6. The eight replaced the inline-six on the previous model, but instead of remaining content to say "good job on the extra two cylinders", Dinan asks what happened to the extra two from the V10. Not that they would have been happy with the V10, either. On that, Dinan pushed and pushed, boring and stroking out the engine's ten cylinders until they got it up to 5.7 liters and 628 horsepower. Pretty sick, but saddled with the heft of a BMW 5 or 6 Series, Dinan couldn't help but ask what would happen to its pride and joy in a more suitable setting. Word has it now that Dinan is preparing to shoehorn in its 628-hp concoction into the M3's engine bay. Thankfully they'll be lightening it up a little after that, removing some of the bulk from the front end in order to keep the weight balance in check. We can't wait to see what it can achieve.

If they can get it at the same cost or less, you could actually consider it a bargain. Sure it would have slightly less space, but it would also have less weight and more power.

I don't know about you but for that money but I'd get something a lil more exotic for that price

A ZR1. Only 2,000 of them so far.

Considering most optioned M3's are going in the high 60's new, and a crate S85 alone last time I checked was $27k. Im betting with the one off stroker engine and the necessary parts/accessories to make it work, closer to $150k or more altogether...

A lot. But if by Dinan M3s you mean this Dinan V10 M3, then probably not very many. Nevertheless, exclusivity isn't reason enough for me to buy a car. I wouldn't take this over a ZR1 or GTR V-Spec, thats all.

lol pretty much, i couldnt imagine it being cheap especially a one off special edition... i mean brabus has that all carbon c class that goes for like 300k

not alot but it's still doesn't justify buying one cause its "rare", I rather get a used Bentley continental. But heck if you got 100k to spend might as well cough up some more money to get a gallardo, maserati gran turismo, aston martin db9, aston martin vantage. Can't justify buying a 100k car that looks like every other 3 series, only certain people will know what it is haha

Of course I meant the V10 Dinan M3. Some people do want exclusivity and that is one of their requirements which is why I responded to koolaider's post saying that he would want something more exotic and unique. This car would definitely peg the unique scale, but exotic, I do agree, despite its performance potential, it wouldn't do it.

You could say something similar for the ZR1 but I'm sure that people who are considering either wouldn't look at it that way.

I never said I would buy the ZR1 for that money either even though its a nice car too. Don't get me wrong they're awesome car, great engineering, but I rather show boat, how many times am I gonna need to use that much horse power driving one of those car lol probably never.
