Ok CSS people help me figure out why my game runs like $%^& now.

When I first installed CS on my laptop freshman year it ran like a dream and i was on a super fast connection (I never found out what speed it was but it was the dorm one and my latency was always in the teens) when I moved into my apt the internet sucked so I unistalled it. I now have fast internet again and so I reinstalled the game and went to play and it just laaaags like crazy and everything is really reallllly choppy even though my latency is in the 20s. I tried playing a 1p game too just vs the bots and it was the same. Choppy animation and everything just went sooooo slow. I tried changing various visual settings in the game and nothing helped. I don't have a ton of background programs running, and im almost sure I have less running now than I did when I first installed it.

give me some ideas on what I could do to fix this, I can give more info on specs but I need to know what I need to tell you and where to find it.

adjust your fps, make sure your screen res is 800x600 or so, and try and fix your rates.

my screen is on 16x10 widescreen @ like 1280x1000 or somewhere around there.

I have no idea how to fix my fps or rates.

i dont think it has to do with my connection or the servers. even when im playing 1p vs bots it will just randomly slow way down but im not even using the internet to play those games.

how do i fix my frames per second

i got my rates decent, but my fps still drops from 30 ish to 5-10ish everyonce in a while and thats when it slows way down.

you might have to reinstall it. maybe even reformat your computer

Your laptop on battery power saving mode by any chance? Reinstall with latest video drivers if anything else.
