eh... that looks like that removable hardtop that that company makes.... google it

I think if they make a coupe it will not really be that helpful, what they need is to produce an OEM hard top that can be taken off and put on quite easily

It looks nothing like the Edag one...

Besides, the hatch area in the new model should take care of the complete lack of space issue with the current model, not to mention add substantial rigidity.

Ok, I stand corrected... I had not looked at those pics in a while.

I agree about the added rigidity, but to most buyers, they actually like having the convertible top. Now, I am not sure about this but I assume BMW sells about 6:1 of their Z4 convertibles to hardtops... or at least thats about how many I see on a regular basis.

I still think its a nice car and I am sure they will sell quite a few, but I just think its too late and they should have just done a removable hardtop somewhat like the one they did for their concept/Jazz the transformer

What do you mean by "too late"? You realize that these things sell like crazy right?

I think it looks really boss with the hard top, almost like the new z4 hardtop coupe.

Pretty titties.

I think its too late for them to have 2 models... a HT and a Convertable. I they could capitalize on the already impressive sales if they made a removable hardtop that everyone (new and old) could use.... Oppose to simply making a whole new model.

But really, back to the topic.

New solstice... and I like it. Hopefully they will change up the gearing so that it is a little quicker

On show at this week’s New York Auto Show is a brand new coupe version of the Pontiac Solstice that will go on sale early next year in both standard and performance GXP trims. The new hardtop is based on the original Solstice coupe concept that debuted as far back as the 2002 Detroit Auto Show and features the same ‘fastback’ shape, stylized roof rails and functional ducktail rear spoiler.

The coupe’s roof is fixed aft of the B-pillars, with side windows and a rear liftglass for access to the cargo area. For drivers still wanting an open-air experience, the coupe also features a removable roof panel that can be stored in the cargo area. The roof’s structure was strengthened with additional support elements, including an aluminum roof bow attached with aluminum brackets. The hardtop also includes a lightweight sheet molding compound cover affixed to a rigid aluminum frame for additional lightweight support.

The rear fenders and rear fascia are the same as those on the convertible, however new taillight assemblies were necessary to blend with the new tapered roofline.

Like its roadster sibling, the coupe is powered by a standard 2.4L Ecotec four-cylinder engine generating 173hp (129kW), while the GXP version is equipped with a more potent 2.0L turbocharged Ecotec engine developing 260hp (194kW).

Nice, really fucking nice actually. A lot better than I had expected it to look.

I'll take this in a Saturn Sky version though.

Very Z4ish.. I like it, not enough to marry it, but I'd have an affair with it.

it says GXP, that should be the turbo version... Wow, the hatch version really fixes the uglyness on this car that has always made me shake my head in disgust. If it AWD, I would even think once about buying one. And I dig the targa top :)

My heart is already committed to the G8 GXP, but I do like this! :thumb:
