I have a 1970 stingray my dad gave me when I graduated high school. it's running but not very well. i've saved almost $7K, and now i wanna put the money into it...any suggestions on where to start performance wise?

i plan on putting a new tranny into it as its slipping between second and first (its an auto). most of my experience is with imports, so i'm not totally sure where to start...

with older car's like that i'd start w/ the body/frame... all the really good classic rod's get torn down to the frame and then rebuilt from the ground up restoring or beefing as needed..

dunno if you wanna go that thorough, but it's a start.

i have a 68 corvette 327 HO drivetrain in my 73 firebird.

if i was you, i'd start with the motor and tranny work first. it's the cheapest. then work on the interior, and slowly do the body work piece by piece. after you're well off in life, take the body off the frame and start from scratch. that's my plan.
