I just installed cs:s and after 5 mins of gaming, it closes with a notice.
Internal driver error in IDirect3DDevice9::Present()
How do I fix this problem?
AMD Athon 64 x2 Dual-Core Processor TK-53 1.70 GHz
1 Gig Ram
ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 256MB HyperMemory
PS. Googled but can't find the right answer

dang, reading up on it, its all source games that get this error :\
try this, start the game at 800 x 600, then when you're in the game, change it back to your normal rez

another thing i saw is forcing the game to run at dx8, but i didnt see how to actually execute that, maybe search on how to run it that way?

updated to the lasted directx and it seems to work so far.
but the lag is my next prob. anyone wanna share your cs:s config to make it run smoother?

uh thats cause ur using onboard or whatever that bs video xpress 1150 is ....try upgrading.

if it's a laptop, i think the word you're looking for is replacement but, i guess we're just splitting hairs now.

try setting everything to low and turn AA/AF to low or off. it MIGHT help, open console and type in "net_graph 1" and try to monitor your fps report back your findings.

why not? 140$ for a card that runs dx10 and plays good games like cod4 at high settings =\.
but im just saying graphics are upgradable on some laptops, and on some they aren't because the graphics chip is soldered on.

i think those slots are called MXM slots or something available in Asus build-it-yourself packages. i'd have to check out his laptop, but i'm fairly confident he's stuck with the gfx chipset he has.

i have an 8600GTS (E6300 running around 3 GHz, 2 GB RAM) if anyone wants to let me use COD4 to test it out.

was reading about this, apparently most of the santa rosa chipsets have this MXM feature, seems awesome i wonder if they have something like this in pci-e card form
