The questions -- What is Dubstep? Who is Joe Nice? What is Gritsy?
Deep in the heart of South London's underground lies a sound that percolates in the streets and vibrates the speakers... Dubstep is the soundtrack. A sound of multicultural influences, syncopated percussion and weighted bass. A vibe that nervously rests on the edge of relaxation and explosion -- the calm before the storm. Dubstep flourishes in the middle ground of the comfortable sounds of soulful House and the unbridled energy of DrumnBass. Thanks to Joe Nice, Dubstep in America now has a foothold.
Since 2002, Joe Nice has been essential in the spread of the the Dubstep sound in America. Through his infamous Gourmetbeats.com Internet radio show, his involvement in the premier Dubstep party of America, Dub War in NYC, and the being first American Dubstep DJ to be invited to spin at DMZ in the UK, Joe Nice has become known as America's Dubstep ambassador.
In 2006, Dubstep began to boom through the streets of downtown Houston courtesy of a few hardworking heads and a little, unknown event with a funny name. Now almost two years later, Gritsy has helped spread the Dubstep sound throughout the city of Houston.
