Ok im 22 and have no credit whats so ever. I dont have anything on my credit file at all. I was wondering how would I go about establishing credit. Keep in mind I have no cosigners so im shit out of luck on that one. So what would be the simplest way to get started. I have applied to every single credit card company over the past 2 years and no biters:Ohnoez: please help!

go to your bank and talk to them about them (assuming you at least have a checking account)
more often than not banks that you an account of some sort with will be more likely to give you a credit card than just applying to some random company.
my first credit card was with wells fargo whom i had been with for a while, now i constantly get credit card offers.... extremely annoying....
or, get a secured credit card as previously mentioned

For secured cards, this one seems to be highly recommended. Idk much about them but it seems like a win
good news on the National City secured card: Everyone is approved, they report as unsecured to all 3 CRA's, and pull a CR only to verify info. CSR said it can go unsecured as soon as 12 months.
Note: Min. deposit is $250; max. is $2,500. Annual fee is $36/year billed @ $3/mo. Purchase APR is 15.24%, Cash Advance APR is 15.8%. Balance Transfer APR is the same as Purchase APR. 25 day grace period. (From the Secured VISA Card Disclosure document as of 3/10/2004.)
There is no online app. - you must call them at 800-762-0974 and request one be mailed to you.
If you need a pos. revolving credit TL, I highly recommend going the secured route with National City. (They are considered a prime bank and are one of the nation's largest financial holding companies.)
http://www.nationalcity.com
ALso this can be converted to a regular account after 6-12 months.

If your in college get a college credit card, I've applied a lot of my customers who have had no credit what so ever and they always get approved for college credit cards. Also do not try to apply at too many places, a lot of inquires will hurt your credit score

:wrd: Capital One gave me my first, but all to you really need is one. And always pay off the balance each month and don't charge more than 30% of your limit.

get a cell phone in your name? apartment? and of course with apt comes cable, water and light bills.
Damn, 22 and no credit? Are you in school? WF has a great college account package. Free checking and a credit card with no annual fees to help you start building your credit. At 18, they started me out with an $800 credit limit. Now I'm 23 and my limit is $5,000.
Since you're not in college it's a good idea to start with a secured card. Please do research into the annual fees since they all vary. I can tell you that Wells Fargo's is $18. It would be smart to not leave a balance so you don't incur the crazy APR.

Secured credit card is the way to go. Do you have a cell that you pay for?
If you can't get a CC, something is wrong. I had 2 at age 18 along with a cell phone with zero credit. I'm suprised in this day an age you can't get an unsecured cc.

That is because of your mom's credit history, not because you graduated high school.

man fuck capital one. they gave me my 1st CC and my limit was 200 and that was 3 years ago with a god awful interest rate at like 20 % or something. 3 years later my limit got pushed to 500 bux and i still got a high as interest rate.
i dont even use that CC anymore. every time i did call within that 3 year span to see if i can get a credit increase or an interest rate decrease fuckers would always tell me O YOU DONT QUALIFY for it right now. i was like even after 2 years i still dont qualify ?/ they said yep... man i get cc offers now a days wanting to give me like a 5000-7000 dola limit and cap1 still fucking tells me nope you dont qualify limit still 500 LoL
from then on i dont use my capone card EVER and dont trust them one bit LoL

you dont need to start with a secured credit card. secured credit cards are usually for people who have fucked up credit and want to re-establish their credit.
apply for a regular c.c., you should be ok. they'll approve with a low limit and then it will increase and your credit increases.
if you go to college, get a college credit card.
PM for more details, I could for sure get you a credit card

Put $500 in a savings account. Ask the bank for a $500 loan, six month term, use your savings as collatoral.
Make payments for 6 months.
Congrats, you now have good credit.

what you do is go to the bank and get a large loan like 5-10K and then dont spend it. Then pay it back in like a couple months and the interest. You will be losing a lil money because of the interest, but you will build your credit quick.

OX Publishing. You pay them a flat fee like 150 bux and they give you 5k in credit. They report to experian monthly and I personally use them. Also another good place to look are catalog companies. They'll give credit to damn near anyone for a fee(150 or so) all you have to do is pay the fee, buy an item so you establish history and then they report you positively.

WTF 32 with no credit history??? how the hell do you get through life? i got approved for capital one with a $300 limit right after i turned 18. Now im 20 i dont use capital one anymore mostly my amex cards and anywhere i apply i get instant approvals..... how is that possible to be trying to establish credit for 14 years and never got a single card?

my first card when i was 18 was capital one $300, just went from there. just take out some loans or something and make payments on time. they are more concerned with getting their money back in installments on time then getting paid off at once.
