i just need a bank that i dont have to give my name. so no one can trace money to me. I dont care if the govt traces it though.

If you're on the up and up it's not really a smart thing to do. And probably not worth it.

Once i have a certain amount of money, I plan on taking a trip out of the U.S.
i cant take it with me in cash for because i'd have to declare it. And i cant deposit it in my account because I'd have to declare it. And most importantly I dont want people to know I have it.

I have an account in Spain which is in euros. I had to go there to get it however and it's not really "hidden."

hmm...not real sure..but an idea..is to take a real quick trip to somewhere out of the country and just walk into the bank and start up an account right there...go home and tranfer your funds....

I'm pretty sure the purpose of an offshore acct is to have something as untraceable as possible. Wire transfer will leave a trail.

1. If you want to play with your money and invest it in a business? Lmk! Your money will be close to you, and you watch how it works for you.
2. Know a guy makes dirty money into clean money...but it cost to be the boss!
3. Make all your cash into money orders, put them in you're luggage where ever you going out of the states and pray your bags dont get lost.

You need to get a lawyer if you want to do it right. Some companies take your order/application and then just sell it to another person (kind of like an in-house car financing company). Gotta love attorney client privilege

No, im from Sugar Land.
#3 on my list has been done from alot of people that dont have docs to show for where they got the money from, so it works out good. GL on your mission.

Most of the time it costs money to set up an offshore account. You have to find a frim that sets up swiss or other offshore accounts. Most of these firms charge a fee of $400-$1500 depending on the type of account and how much is being deposited. Before going through a firm, I would locate the Swiss consulate and get a list of thier banks. You can save yourself money by applying yourself. All you really need is a passport, and possibly proof on income (depends on the bank). Your account will be set up through the mail and money can be depostied online or through an escrow service. I would recomend a Swiss account if deopsiting a large sum of money 10k+. Thier economy is the most stable in the world. On top of that, most swiss banks offer whats called a full service bank. They help you with securities brokerage, investment counseling and portfolio management. That is much more than any US bank would offer.
Edit: I also did you a favor by looking up the top 5 Swiss banks. These are the top banks that handle most foreign accounts.
- The Swiss Credit Bank in Zurich
- The Union Bank of Switzerland
- The Bank Leu (AG) in Zurich
- The Swiss Bank Corporation in Basel
- The Swiss Volksbank in Berne

Ooops, I also forgot to mention that dont expect to make 10% return on your money. Most of the swiss banks offer up to 5.05% APY maybe even 5.25% APY return, but thats pushing it. On top of that they tax 35% on the interest earned. Since you are a US citizen you can get 30% of it refunded. Keeping that inmind its pretty much a break even account, but a great way to store money you dont plan to use for awhile.
