Official Server/Clan & Application thread

ok guys, here's the deal. after some discussion between beretta and I we think that there are enough H-I members to start a clan and rent a server for our practices/scrims etc. for those of you who were at the first LAN party, you guys know that we are serious in trying to obtain our server. we also know that it will be between $18-25 per month depending on who we rent from and some of the options we will choose.

our goal is to obtain a 12-man, 100-tick, private server that will be a normal map rotation server. in order to accomplish this, we need to have dues for our clan, which will guarantee you a reserve spot on the private server and allow you to invite your friends that you play with to come play with us. at the lan we all agreed that either Beretta or mach1kid will handle the dues for the clan as my paypal account will be used to handle the LAN funds. dues for the official clan will be $25 per year, which i think is pretty fair for what you're getting. you might be asking yourself why we need our own server, well the answer here is clear. in order to place clan members on teams within the clan we need a private place to figure out what all of your talents are. some people are good at AWP and some just suck at it. we will need to find out who's good at what and place you accordingly. also, our server is where we can scrim with other clans without worry of people coming in and ruining the scrim.

25 bucks is very reasonable considering you get a private server to play on and access to admins through steam friends.

Honestly guys, if you are to be taken seriously, a fee as minimal as 25$ shouldn't even be hesitated or questioned. Like Bubbles said, you get a private server, which would be used for official matches - clan meetings - even for just bs practice, hell i'm positive that private server will be used for scrims more than anything. Then you will have constant admin support right off of your friends list. Need a map change or some sort of adjustment on the server. 25$ is nothing.

Guys this is a serious clan, which is representing a forum i know most of you post on or atleast come to on a DAILY basis. So lets get the serious counter-strike players to join up and rep houston.

i will send some money right over as soon as my check clears. i'm sure rob, mike and abracon will have money ready for you too. we can at least get the server up and you can teach me and rob how to admin.

there's a server list thread in this forum where we post up where we play and our steam ID's so we can just join the games that our friends are in. so far to be in the official clan we're only requiring that you are a current poster on H-I, you pay dues of 25 dollars per year (for server upkeep) and you make an effort to come out to the LANs when we have them. the next lan is feb 16. PM me for anything else you might have questions about.

thanks a lot chris! the way i see it, you just got yourself two years worth of dues paid. =] when alex gets situated in his new apt tomorrow we're gonna talk about where we're getting a server, etc. we also need all you other fellas to chip in so that we can guarantee that we'll have enough cash to keep it up for a year.

well it's not an actual computer we're concerned with, but renting a server from a good host that's what's important, unless you have verizon FIOS and want to host a server for us :rock:

Hmm.. haven't touched CS in a long time. Was in a few cal-m and cal-i clans back in the days before they added that other class inbetween these :o.

Coming back to some CS is tempting.. although I have been spoiled by TF2 and COD4.

Just PP my dues. I usually play on a couple diff. servers since i'm apart of another clan(7 cor) i'll tag up with you guys when I play on HI server.

I won't be much help for any serious competition (CAL), but if we are going to have a separate server just for public playing I'm down for the $25 a year. I hope we get as much traffic as [Whore] server, but with much more mature admins and not some spoil ass teenager with a happy trigger finger to ban legit players. I also like to vote for profanity use for public server. I'm tired of going into servers and profanity is not allowed then end up getting banned for it. Fuck all that bullshit, lol.

WTF? Isn't this game rated [MA+17] Mature anyways? You can actually buy porn at 17+, LOL. That doesn't make sense to me at all.
