Nissan 240SX Rumoured for 2010 Comeback

The Nissan GT-R has managed to get quite some blood pumping. Firstly it has exceeded prelimenary order expectations and subsequently boosted the Skyline coupe sales and now it has spun off a new rumour about the return of the Nissan Silvia / 240 SX / 200 SX / 180 SX. Whatever the name might be, RocketPunch claims to have confirmation that Nissan will return to the scene with the two seater by 2010.
With the demise of the Nissan Silvia/240SX in 2002 Nissan have left a gaping gap in their sports car line-up. The 350Z might be a good bang-for-your-buck but is not exactly cheap either, so there is definitely room for a lower-end fun-to-drive coupe. The new Silvia is rumoured to be build on the new 'Z' RWD platform and may be powered by a Renault engine (we can only hope for the 230 hp 2.0 liter turbo from the Renault Megane F1 Team R26).

Which is pretty rare for most cars transitioning from R&D to production. I like the overall direction that Nissan is heading towards, as well as Honda/Acura.

if it's Renault-based, it could be something derived from the highly homosexual MR20DE. Also, it won't be a two-seater. Nothing Nissan makes will be 2.4L so it should be something along the lines of a 250SX. Nissan already makes a RWD version of it's highly homosexual QR25DE

the SR20DET went out of production when the last S15 Silvia rolled of the assembly line in 2002. If anything they may use the 2.5 liter QR25DE, but who knows.

I do know that the SR20DE made it into a few other cars, but didnt the SR20DET get axed once the last s-chassis was built? correct me if i wrong. Either way, the sr lives on! :rock:

They started production of the X-Trail GT with the SR20VET in 2001. I don't know until when they were produced, but the end of the generation was 2006.

all of nissans cars are beginning to look too much alike...altima and maxima look exactly the same from the front..and their headlights design look just like the new sentra and the the z. Front end of Titan and the Armada are the same too. I know its cost effective too share parts but they really need to do something to make each vehicle unique and different.

When Carlos took over he axed that Concept and pushed the GT-R to the back burner.......but that's a good thing cause they had time to refine it.

Let's just pray that Nissan doesn't pussy out on the S16 period at this point with the Altima Coupe and it's sluggish sales.
