It's come to my attention that 90% of the posters in the audio forum now have "hookups" (incidentally, what IS a hookup if everyone has it??) and do nothing but promote themselves. For about the third or fourth occasion within the past couple of weeks, today I entered the audio forum first, as I always do, to see the top 5 most recent posts from the same person, all of which are simply "call ______ and ask for _______".

IMH O, it'd be a lot cleaner to have some kind of policy against this. The For Sale forum does, seems to keep things much more organized for people that actually want to contribute to threads.

I say, if you wanna promote yourself, do it privately. But spamming every thread from the past couple of days is a bit excessive...

i think its a good idea. its really the mods job to take care of that.

PM tre or any admin about it and well gladly take care of it for you.

btw, just checked the forum....this is a n00b who is doing it, ill inform him of our policy. thanks for the heads-up.

Well I know the one you're referring to, and yeah he's a noob, he was the most recently registered user even when I first saw all his posts..

But it happens a lot more with other people, seniority not a factor. Tre does a pretty good job deleting useless stuff...I know he's deleted probly a couple of PAGES worth of my own posts in the past :D

I think think even if you've been posting here since the beginning, you still should keep it in the PM's. There's one thread in there right now that I mentioned this very topic in, and in that thread about 80% of the posts are self promotions.

Makes me feel discriminated against when my posts are deleted. I think I'll sue :roflmao:
