Porsche tuner Gemballa has announced a new kit for the Porsche 911 Turbo called the Turbo GT 550. Designed for the new 997 model, it provides increased aerodynamics and a boost to 500 horsepower. The Turbo GT 550 requires less than 3.8 seconds to accelerate to 62 mph, or 3.6 seconds with overboost.

A front spoiler reduces lift on the front axle, while new side skirts maintain design consistency. Discreet air inlets help to cool the tires and brakes, and the rear wing has been significantly modified from the production version. It features openings at the bottom to supply the turbocharged engine with additional air, plus a large main spoiler to create downforce for the rear axle.

light weight plus cup tires plays a big roll....btw tommy bahn ran a 1 min 55sec in a bone stock m3 with 19'wheels last week at msr:eek9:

a base stock elise with street tires could "almost" do that.. :) sportpack could easily do it.. :D even on the hp track like msrh..

my last outing on a member day there was a race prepped GT3 rs cup car.. geez that guy was fast.. he also has a few ruf porsches, ford gt, and multiple elises.. :)

yea, I remember that guy. When he gets behind you, he starts weaving back and forth, then makes a crazy pass. I almost lost it trying to keep up with him. (I was on street tires). Later i did keep up a few laps with him in his convertible ferrari,lol.

I just let him pass :).. he always gets up on me at the carousel.. he maybe just dancing, it's amazing watching him go through carousel, dancing the car out to the exit is a sight! he likes GT3s better too :)
