American Honda Motor Co., Inc., today revealed a prototype Civic MUGEN Si Sedan prepared by legendary Honda tuner MUGEN equipped with a high performance suspension, forged aluminum wheels, aerodynamic body styling and a sport exhaust system at the 2006 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show. Planned for production in a limited quantity of 500 units a year, the Civic MUGEN Si will be available at U.S. Honda dealers starting in spring 2007 with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of less than $30,000 and a full factory warranty.

uhh...they did do that years ago. the 1st gen CRX could be bought with a full assortment of mugen goodies, including a high performance 1.5L engine. The 1st gen integra could also be ordered with several mugen parts.

Agreed! It is a cool looking car and I am sure is fun to drive but an NA 4 banger with maybe 210 BHP is not worth 30K, no matter how much mugen is on it.

i wonder if honda is waiting for the right time to bring out a new twin turbo civic, prelude, or S2k? that would be awsome. how about this a twin turbo civic 4 banger producing about 260hp or twin turbo 4 banger or V6 prelude producing 300hp(4 banger) or producing over 350hp(V6) and finally the S2k the engine i dunno but producing over 400hp and less then 40k for S2k, prelude less then 35k and civic less then 25k.. what do yall think?

Hatchbacks are the closest to a coupe over there.
So it would make sense for them to have a Mugen Civic 4 dr.

I completely agree. While i do believe the sedan looks nice, and love the fact that the car is sporting Mugen, it's nowhere near worth $30,000 for a few minor adjustments. Si owners can go add on their own exhaust, lip kit, and wheels of their choice for far less and then i'm sure there will be a way to get ahold of the exterior Mugen emblems at the very least for those who want it.

to be honest im disappointed in this being part of the market....some appreciate mugen more than anyone else..same as nismo before they went into the public thing. I hope you guys understand what i mean. There might be a punk ass who just bought that mugen civic and drives it around pretending to be badass like no tomorrow, but to be honest he doesnt know what he has...it sucks because now it probably wont be as "special" as before....thats like honda introducing the all new *Backyard Special Edition* hehe
