Well this snuck up on me, and I never woulda thought it for a zillion years...but it looks like Nissan is readying an Altima Coupe! I found these shots on another site that claims the photos were taken near Burbank, CA. With the LA Auto Show just around the corner, and Detroit in January, I'd expect to see an official announcement soon. I must say that it looks pretty nice from these pretty bad photos.

looks like a g35 with front end conversion from those pics

but if it is real

yeah thats what i figured.Either way it looks remarkable, any idea on what type of powerplant its goign to have?Maybe an se-r version in the future? cant wait to see this car hit the streets, if it does anyway...

I like this car because I love our Altima sedan. I hope the interior fit and finish are on track with Nissan's ergonomics overhaul.

FWD for the lose, but if you want a world class V6 with more than adequate power, an independent multilink suspension, and something reliable to get you back and forth to work, then a car like this will suit your needs. I'm a huge proponent for the benefits of RWD, but not everyone (like my wife) needs it.

BTW, this paves the way to a REAL SE-R. SE-Rs should have stayed coupe ... none of this B15 Sentra SE-R bullshit.

I've always liked the Altima, and I could see myself in one of these. I hope it comes out because I would look into getting one.

They need both, like the Civic, in IMHO.

The Altima coupe looks great. I hope they bring this to market, and it eats Accord, Solara, and G6 sales.

thanks i appreciate it man, thats a crazy looking car man. very much props to Nissan though. poor mans G35, if theyre just interested in looks.

but the thing is, we dont know yet if it will be FWD or RWD.

Subaru is like that because it needs it's niche market. Nissan still needs to make some economy cars. The Altima and the Murano are basically the same car, and the Murano is available in AWD, so there's always the slight possibility. If the Maxima can come in AWD, that would be the winner

I know right, the g35 has beautiful lines, so what it looks like a entry level luxury sports coupe :stare: . You trying to tell me the altima 4 door maxima and new sentra dont look exactly alike :-/

nissan had this exact same problem between the altima and the maxima. they blurred the lines between the cars and the maxima lost potential sales. the maxima is supposed to be the baller "flagship" of nissan. now by making a g35 lookalike at a cheaper price, they've done the same thing again, just now across make lines.

i think they stand to lose more money from this when people start buying an altima instead of g35s.

its really going to come down to available features and price if the g35 is going to lose out on any money or not, the sedan version of both of these cars look "similar" but infinity i highly doubt is losing any money on sales in that front.
