A friend of mind wants some help wit a system he is gonna install in his Previa mini-van. He is looking to spend bout $800 for a complete system consisting of a head unit, an amp, a sub, and 4 speakers.
Any kind of recommendations u can give about wat kind of components to buy and where to go to purchase and install everything would be helpful. Post ur replies or PM me if u can hook him wit something.

Hmm 800 is doable... and yes u can get a complete system for around that price.. u just have to go look around..
Pioneer Premier HEH - 750MP = 249.00
MB Quart DSD 216 = 119.00
MB Quart DKD 6.5" = 69.00
Sub amp = Kicker DX700 = 200.00
Phoenix Gold TI 10" = 2 x 79.00 (160.00)
Scosche Amp Kit = 25.00
Box = 30 bux
=============================
Total = 823.00
Hmm.. and thats just 1 configuration i found off the top of my head.. there are even cheaper systems u can go with that will be just as good.. if not better.. you dont need to spend high dollar to get a good system...

OR
Alpine CDA 9805 = 179.00
Crystal CP60 6.5 2-way comps = 145.00
Crystal CX610 6.5" = 69.00
Sub amp = MTX Thunder 4250D = 129.00
Elemental Designs E12K Dual 4Ohm = 135.00
Scosche Amp Kit = 25.00

Now the gear isnt going to cost u much.. the install on the other hand.. well i would find someone who knows what they are doing and maybe they will install it for you... toyotas arent too hard to install into.. but yea.. i betcha either of the systems would be more than enough for your boy..

Go JL and u'll be broke... His budget is 800 not 8K... and i would take the TI or the ED 12K over the W3... which is the only sub that MAY be in his price range... He needs a complete system for 800.. not just a sub and an amp.. people on this board are too concerned with brands...

The W6v1 will still run him bout 100 bux.. and the e12K will beat it out in output and will be on par with sound.. and they come with a 3 year warranty.. and are more efficient if i remember correctly.. the W6 is a very nice sub.. i owned a couple of em and liked em alot.. but they dont have the output of some of the newer stuff out..

Im not saying not to get good brands.. all the brands i listed above are good brands.. i meant to say.. everyone here is stuck on JL, Kicker, and MA Audio, Audiobahn, Memphis.. of the 5.. i like only 2.. and of those 2.. i would only run 1.. and that 1 is overpriced... 750 Retail on a 12" sub is not something i want to spend... now if u got a deal.. then hey.. im all bout it.. but 750?? no sir....

Amp kit- 20
Box- 25
L7- 200
Planet audio 850D- 220
Pioneer Premier 750- 220 (prob cheaper)
Pioneer 6.5- 60 (since your not using an amp) 240 watt
Pioneer 6x9 - 60 ""
Total-805.00.... If you wanted to play with some actual numbers it would probably be cheaper. Plus you could go with some Infinity reference series for 4 speakers. And you dont have to necessarily get the Premiere 750... You could go lower... Your on a budget.

He wanted a clean and accurate system... Components that will sound MUCH better than most 6.5 co-ax or even 3 or 4ways... The L7 will get loud.. but will generally sound sloppy... and its costing 200 bux... The PA amp is aight and is a decent budget amp.. but i would reconsider the Sub and speakers..
he can probably go look around and find even better stuff.. a buddy of mine is selling his JL VR comps for 100 even if not... and would sound way better than the pioneer..

We can always swap out the shit for MBQ components..... Doesnt matter... and you can choose any sub you want.. it just gets cheaper.... L7, Type-R, HX2, PA-Z12, whatever i mean it gets cheaper besides like JL... When your on an 800.00 budget you probably dont want to throw you money away.. Yeah they are good but not for the money....

i dunno but i would go with an eclipse head no matter what. when i had my w7's bumping on a 1000/1 i didn't need a amp for my highs or even need new one's. my $40 pioneer from walmart held up with that head head unit.
