He's taking them as headshots for his acting portfolio... He had a minimal role in about 7 episodes of LOST and is getting typecast as a hardass in most of his work, so he's wanting shots that will make him seem tough.
He has a harley so we're going to work that into the sets... any tips or suggestions on how to shoot? How to position men?
I kind of want to go for the classic james dean look....

his role was very very un important. funny he was even credited.
gl w. the shoot. black and white is good, wearing something simple. lined dress shirt, or black tee / white tee. sitting next to a window or leaning against a wall like mighty said.

Im sure she does. She is just looking for pointers. Pro's share tips all the time . . . . well not all the time. Gotta keep a few ideas for rainy days you know.
Good Luck with the photoshoot.

in response to mike. i agree but it depends on how she advertised for it or how it came about. if you are openly advertising that you are a professional headshot/portfolio photographer and you are just really inexperienced, then thats pretty lame, but if you know the person through mutual friends and they know your experience level then no harm no foul.

i hear its a lot more difficult to take photoshoots of men rather than women because of the limited poses that men can do aha...but all in all, Black and white effects sound good :thumb:

take a pic of him shooting a puppy. no one will doubt that he is a hardass after that. and then use photoshop to give him horns

its really just the societal double negative. if a girl dresses in boyish clothes its kinda sexy but if a guy dresses in girly clothes hes a fag. same thing with posing. if a girl is acting manly or posing tough (flexing etc) it can be cute, but if for guys theres a certain line that is easily crossed into homosexuality. lol. you know what i mean.
fuck it shooting a puppy it is.
