Anybody got any good recommendations? I've used a few different ones. Coppermine is crap. Gallery is crap. Well, I guess they serve their purpose but either they're too basic or the UI sux or something. Most of the PD shit out there is nigh worthless. From what I've seen, CARMA pwnz everything sideways, but it's $3.5K and there's currently questions about the companies future at this point.

What I'm looking for:

Under $1k
Ability for users to upload their own albums/pics
Ability to locate content behind /public_html
optional Storefront/Shopping cart system for people to purchase shit

i customized my little gallery page but its nothing special.

its nothing like you want to do.

oh i heard through the grapegvine about Phillip getting a camera case stolen at Hobby? and Apena auctioning corsets to help pay?

whats the scoop on that and what all did he get stolen?

Man, I felt really bad for him but he took it really well, all things considered. I get an IM at like 4am when he got back from Phoenix and said he got jacked at IAH while he was grabbing his luggage from the carousel. Lost a 30D that was 10 days old, pocket wiz, 5 1GB CF cards, 24-70 L, 6 EOS batteries, 35mm 2.something lens. Fuckin thieves are everywhere, I swear. :madfuck:

and he doesnt have insurance?

it costs me 260bux a year for ALL my gear (about 20K)

and there is no deductable.

yeah that does. im glad ive had good luck. i have a pelican hardcase that is attached to me all the fucking time. when im at baggage claim i sit on it. the rolling part acts as a back its awesome.

do you check the hardcase or carry it on? i was very scared when i have traveled the last few months and i barely have any $ invested in gear...but people these day.

yeah i ALWAYS carry it with me. NEVER check anything of value.

by value i mean more than direct monetary value. if im traveling somewhere for a shoot and my shit gets lost then im screwed. thats not an option.
