Im looking into buying either or, but i heard that the only difference was the LCD screen size.True?

Also, I was just wondering if it was a good or crappy camera.

Thanks

They are both great cameras. Several of the pro motorsports shooters I know actually use the 20D...and these guys are the big names in motorsports photography.

7 more continuous images in burst mode, .7" larger screen

thats the only differences it shows on the the link that david posted

besides that they changed parameters to picture styles. its a good choice with either camera

Nothing screams n00b more than "picture styles".

nope, the 20d could only do 3.5fps, the 30d can do both.
are you SURE the 20D does only 3.5fps? i'm quite sure it can shoot at 5fps.

Continuous Drive:
Yes, 5 fps up to 23 JPEG images

nice try, the 20d is 5fp, the 30 does 5fps and a lower burst that has more total shots.

I put the 20 and 30d side by side at work on a daily basis, the burst mode is the same

sorry, but no, it can't. just ask franny he owns both the 20d and 30d and even he'll tell you the 30d is the only one that does 5fps.
franny has a 10d and 30d if i'm correct, which i believe i am, unless he got a 20d as of recently. i have a 20d and i assure you its capable of 5fps

oh ok. i only have the 10d and 30d. 10d is only good for the 3.5 fps or whatever.

with the 30d, the rate is selectable. not sure if it is on the 20d.

nah, it's fixed at 5fps.

actually its not fixed. if you set it on single from you selected 1fpx if you selected continuous burst its 5fps.

...selectable.

ive been in the process of looking at them too... the 30d and 20d are very similar... is it really worth the extra money.. if you dont mind the screen DPreview says 20d is much more worth due to the cost of it... but the screen does help see better, aswell as the spotmetering on the 30d makes it better...

the screen IS that much better trust me.

hey galant when would you use spotmetering?

and picture styles is pretty nice IMO, but im a noob.

I hardly even look at my LCD anymore, so a larger one isn't that big of a selling point. Neither is more MPs. In fact, I think I'd rather have a used 4MP EOS-1D over a 30D.
