...is the romantic ideal of it. When you take a picture, you capture a moment. You capture a piece of time and earth. There's nothing more romantic and fulfilling than being the one to take that moment and make it yours. You can make the moment real, you can make it beautiful, you can make it dramatic. You take real life and perfect it within the range of your lens and imagination.

What's YOUR favorite thing about photography?

colors as well as black and white.. black and white always makes me stay interested in the pic trying to see what was occuring in it... you cant put it better than how you said it man,

My favorite thing?

I learn something new with just about each picture I take. It could be learning about something to do with the camera, learning about the subject I'm shooting, or even learning about the reason why I chose to shoot this subject. Sure, I learn things when I play pool... but I can't capture each shot I make in pool, can I?

I like photography because it puts things from my perspective. I get to control what the viewers see, but let them have their own thoughts about it. I can control the image, but not their reactions.

I was thinking that exact thing today trying to choose between a macbook pro, or a canon rebel xt. i wasnt sure if i wanted to invest too much into a camera since i just take pics as a hobby, not a profession. but then i thought about how taking a pic captures a certain time, place, feeling.

still havent made up my mind yet though :\

i <3 colors in pics, but not to the point where it just looks like an oversaturated image. animals are fun to shoot also but i never really get to do that often. also like to make images look dramatic, to the point where some people say there's too much photoshop involved in teh pic, but that's my style and i'm stickin' to it :)

definitely. If you want the most effective reaction from your observers, then do what ^^ says. :thumb:

I read somewhere that photographers take pictures to see how life looks like on paper (and some more that i cant remember)... I like how he/she said it 'coz its simple and very agreeable.
