View Full Version : What do you feel your photographic strengths are?

I would say that mine are color and composition.

I've always been able to keep a picture feeling pretty balanced, plus I have been told by a few professionals that I have a great eye for composition..... and I believe that my use of color in a photo is what sets me apart from other photographers. I think color is important when searching for a certain mood contained in a photo. I think that color does so much in supplementing and creating the impact of the photo.

I'm hoping that once I start getting into my upper-division photography courses I will become a master at lighting. I think that lighting has as much of a creative impact on a picture as color does.

i think i have a small knack for catching alot of spiffy candid shots.

otherwise, i think overall i'm average.

it's surprising to me how many different odd end jobs to high paying ones i've gotten, despite seeing so many better photogs everywhere else.

most of your clients if you are trying to make money from it will most likely be clueless to what they really want. if you can make good photos from cheap gear and not much knowledge then awesome.

it gets tougher as you move up and start working for companies and people that know good photography, but it depends on what field you go into really.

it depends on what your passion is. if your passion is to meet hot chicks and be rich, yeah photography wont do it for you. (ok maybe the hot chicks part isnt really accurate;) )

my passion is making great images i really could care less about being rich.

as far what youre talking about. if you are just trying to make some money right now with the photo stuff thats awesome.

its 25% photo skill and 75% business skill (marketing, business sense, people skills, etc) just like with any business.

there will be great photographers that are recluses with no people skills or street smarts at all, then average photographers with great people skills that will go farther.

wrd. me too.

and its crazy because i am THE youngest kid out there, all the time. period.

all the PJ's ive run into are old farts that are all jaded and what not. there are some very nice guys but being young, business minded and good with people is a plus. and that actually talk. the other astros shooter is a guy who has been with the team since 1997 and RARELY talks ever.

What's up with all these people talking about how they only have weaknesses?

YOU ALL HAVE STRENGTHS!
