THE WEEK IN PICTURES (7/24-7/30)

Ok so I guess we can see how this goes, but I had this idea in the shower. Each week on Monday we will have a thread where everyone who participates can post 5 photos that theyve taken during the monday-sunday week. Whether you are just starting out as a hobby or you are working, post up the 5 photos that you think are the most telling or interesting about what you are doing. This way we can help each other with comments and critiques as well as gaining access to a window into each others little world. Its a great excersize to get to know each other better and to better ourselves as photographers.

the rules i was thinking of are:

-max of 5 photos that were taken between the dates, if you pick stuff from past weeks to impress us you are only fooling yourself.
-keep the res respectable (we should all know how to work a basic image editing program to resize) i think max of 800x600 is max) i usually post photos that are 650-700 on the long end.
-try and provide some background on the photo through basic description or captioning (camera info is optional, but helps out others)
-if you are going to respond try and keep from quoting all the other photos so we dont have super long, huge threads like the meet photos threads.
-if you are going to comment or critique please do so, but just coming in here saying "wHaT leNz?" or "WhAt CaM u Usin?" really isnt what any of us want to hear.

if you have any other comments or suggestions about the idea post them here as well. or pm me.

well i decided to start the thread today. so post 5 photos from last week meaning photos taken between last MONDAY JULY 24th through SUNDAY JULY 30th (yesterday)

ill start a new thread next monday. i think monday is perfect. its something to look forward to on a boring monday and itll be good to showcase all the good photos that are captured during the weekend.

this one is of luke scott, one of the nicest astros ever. he is still considered a rookie and completed a reverse cycle on friday. he writes down the games' happenings throughout the game in his diary. this is saturday right after the win, everyone was leaving the dugout, but scott stayed behind to jot down his thoughts in his diary. after this shot he looked up, saw me taking photos and smiled the biggest smile ever...

that was the standard 2.8 any aperture lower and it would have ruined it.

they're pretty close, they would have had to have been further from the player in focus to more out of focus, thats some pretty shallow DOF considering how close they look like they are

I took a class in 9th grade, but everything that I know now is basically self-taught. The easiest way to learn is to just screw around with it.
